How to Reach Us
1. Airplane
Arriving at the airport Halle/Leipzig, take the shuttle (bus no. 300) which runs twice per hour.
Travel to Riebeckplatz/Hauptbahnhof takes about 23 minutes. Then change to the tram (see below).
New since July 2003: the the Railway (german railway schedule ) from the Airport to Halle (Saale) Hbf, hourly service. Then change to the tram (see below).
2. Railway
Starting from the Central Station at Halle, follow the subway heading to the Riebeckplatz' tram stations. Take the tram line "5" directed to Heide. They run every 10 minutes. After 17 minutes of travelling, leave at station "Weinbergweg". Now it is only 3 minutes of walking (cf. map). A single ticket for the tram (do not use a short term ticket!) costs 1,70 €. You may purchase it at the Riebeckplatz' ticket office or local slotmachines, or directly from the tram driver.
3. Car
Follow the highway A9 (Munich-Berlin) to the crossing Schkeuditz. Leave for the direction to Halle (highway A14). Then, exit at Halle/Peissen to the B100 towards city center. After 4 km, turn left at the Dessauer Brücke. Take the next exit to the right (sign Magdeburg) and enter the Paracelsus-Straße for about 30 m. Leave it at the sign Wolfensteinstraße and follow the main route straight to the Große Brunnenstraße and Kröllwitzer Brücke (Saalebrücke). Immediately behind the bridge, turn to the right. From theòe, the campus Weinbergweg is only 1 km away; follow the signs.
Alternative Routes:
(From north at highway A9): Exit at Halle/Landsberg, and follow the B100 to Halle. For the further route at Halle/Peissen, see above.
(From south at highway A9): Exit at Groebers (B6, towards Halle); after approx. 15 km you are at the Riebeckplatz in Halle (be aware of round traffic!). Follow the signs to Halle-Neustadt on the Magistrale until to the exit Rennbahn/Gimritzer Damm; leave there and turn right. Go straight on for 1 km at the Gimritzer Damm until to the traffic lights at the Weinbergweg. There, turn right and follow the map displayed above; immediately after the traffic lights, you see the blue building of the biotechnology department.
